Orion Mission

    Orion is a new company created through the equity investment of two of the largest CAA Clubs in Canada. CAA South Central Ontario (SCO) and the Alberta Motor Association (AMA) are Member Clubs of CAA (Canadian Automobile Association), a not-for-profit organization offering Member Clubs a complete range of auto touring, leisure travel, insurance and other services.

    CAA has approximately 5.5 million Members nationally. As a result of the increasing age of the Canadian traveller there is a need to simplify Travel Insurance products and to underwrite and sell the product in a manner not currently available to Canadian consumers.

    The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) and CAA South Central Ontario (CAASCO) each have been selling travel insurance related products for more than 20 years. As the industry has evolved, CAASCO and AMA have increasingly found challenges with the limitations of the insurance products, systems and processes of the national carriers which underwrite the products they sell. In keeping with the mandates of the AMA and CAASCO, which are to provide Member value and peace of mind, AMA and CAASCO have decided to create a formidable partnership in the travel insurance industry by incorporating a new company.
