Non-Medical Vacation Package Plan

If a traveller already has emergency medical coverage through another insurance provider, they may choose this Plan to protect their prepaid travel arrangements as well as their baggage and personal effects, while they travel.

By pre-paying for flights, hotels or car rentals, travellers can often save money. Many prepaid aspects of travel are often non-refundable – even in case of an emergency. Should something unexpected cause a traveller to delay, cancel or interrupt their trip, this insurance could help them recover funds they’ve already paid out. It also extends protection to their baggage and personal effects, should they be lost, delayed or stolen.

    Typically includes:

  • Trip Cancellation & Interruption Insurance
  • Travel Accident Insurance
  • Flight Accident Insurance
  • Common Carrier Accident Insurance
  • 24-hour Accident Insurance
  • Baggage Insurance
  • Baggage Delay
  • Lost Documents

Trip Cancellation & Interruption Insurance

This plan protects the insured for prepaid travel arrangements. Travellers don’t want to cancel, delay or interrupt a trip, but just in case a situation arises that they didn’t expect, this insurance could help protect their pre-paid travel investment.

This plan offers financial protection if an unforeseen illness, injury or other covered event causes you to cancel, delay or interrupt your travel plans. Choose this insurance for coverage prior to your departure as well as during your travels.

Many pre-paid travel arrangements are non-refundable. In the event that you need to cancel, delay or interrupt your plans, this insurance could help you recover funds that you paid out in advance.

Trip Cancellation Insurance reimburses the non-refundable prepaid travel arrangements, if you must cancel your trip before departure as a result of a:

  • Covered unforeseen death, injury, or illness prior to your departure date
  • Travel advisory to postpone your trip
  • Involuntary loss of employment or relocation
  • Disaster causing home or business to be uninhabitable
  • Legal obligation such as jury duty
  • Quarantine
  • Default of travel supplier
Trip Interruption Insurance reimburses expenses for a covered risk which are unforeseen, should the traveller’s vacation be interrupted as a result of a:

  • Medical condition or death
  • Default of travel supplier
  • Travel advisory issued after your departure date
  • Involuntary loss of employment or relocation
  • Disaster
  • Legal obligations such as jury duty
  • Quarantine
  • Missed connection

Travel Accident Insurance

Travel often involves many modes of transportation. This insurance protects you in the event of accidental death or dismemberment in a covered accident.

Baggage Insurance

This insurance provides coverage for loss, theft or damage to the baggage and personal effects that you take on your trip – including your travel documents.

Rental Vehicle Insurance

Purchase this coverage before leaving Canada to save time and money. Rental agencies often charge daily fees for additional insurance, and those can add up quickly for the traveller.

This coverage is for physical damage or loss to the rental vehicle as a result of collision, fire, theft, hail, windstorm, earthquake, flood, mischief, riot or civil commotion. Provides coverage for up to $60,000 (CAD).

BounceBack Insurance

Perfect for snowbirds, this insurance covers transportation expenses from your vacation destination, home, and back again in case of a hospitalization or death in the family, or in the event of a disaster at your home.

This insurance plan is typically purchased for the following instances:

  • When the traveller’s trip is interrupted as a result of a member of their immediate family, who is not travelling with them, is admitted to a hospital due to an emergency or dies after the traveller leaves home.
  • When a disaster causes their principal residence to become uninhabitable, after they have left home.

These plans pay for the traveller’s round-trip transportation expenses to return to their home and then back to their destination.
